RDPWin Monitor Causing Constant Server Reboot

Added 04/13/11 - MC
Article ID#: KWin0163

The RDPWin Monitor service is causing the server to constantly reboot. This issue is caused when the RDPWin Monitor starts up and tries to send any queued GDS messages prior to the Pervasive services starting.  Pervasive services are critical for processing GDS messages.

Set the RDPWin Monitor service startup type to Automatic (Delayed Start).

  1. From the RDP data server, click Start --> Run --> Regedit
  3. Expand SYSTEM.
  4. Expand CurrentControlSet.
  5. Expand Services.
  6. Click RDPWinMonitor.
  7. Right click Start in the right pane.
  8. Change the Value Data field to 4 and click OK.
  9. Reboot the server.
