Logon Already in Use - Users Remain in Lockfile After Logoff

Index
Added 9/30/10 - MC
Article ID#: KWin0138

Issue

After users logoff or exit RDPWin, their record remains in the lockfile. When logging in again, they receive an error that the logon is already in use, therefore, not allowing them back into RDPWin. Workstations receive the following error:

The logon ADMIN is already in use at station 5393. The same logon name is not allowed on more than one computer at the same time.

Solution

Check all Pervasive databases ensuring they match RDP databases and resorts file.

Verify the databases listed are actual directories for RDP.

1.       Start

2.       Programs

3.       Pervasive

4.       Control Center

5.       Expand Engines

6.       Expand Databases

7.       Delete any unused databases by right-clicking the database and clicking delete

Verify the Pervasive databases are pointed at the correct directory.

1.       Start

2.       Programs

3.       Pervasive

4.       Control Center

5.       Expand Engines

6.       Expand Databases

7.       From the left pane, click Directories

8.       There should only be one Data Directory for each database pointing to where the data is located (\rdp\rdp01\ or \rdp\rdpde\)

9.       Remove any unnecessary data directories

Modify the Resorts file to match the Pervasive databases, listing only resorts that are being used.

1.       Go to Windows Explorer

2.       Locate the RDPNT folder on the appropriate mapped drive (R:\ or F:\)

3.       RDP folder

4.       Open the Resorts file

5.       Make any necessary change

6.       Save
