Reasons for Differences between the DOS 360 and the
RDPWin RoomForecastbyGenCat reports
The RoomForecast report may differ from the DOS 360
on the current system date. The DOS 360 report looks at
reservations, while the RoomForecast reports look at the stat file.
Once reservations are checked out or checked in, the reports will
differ. For example, a reservation that is checked out will no
longer count as a departure on the DOS 360 report, but it will still
show as a departure on the RoomForecast reports. Another
example is a reservation that is checked in will count as a stayover
on the DOS 360 report, but will still count as an arrival on the
Owner referral (R type) reservations are handled
differently between the reports. The DOS 360 report will count
it as a Non-Group Reservation, but the RoomForecast reports will
count it as an Owner & Guest of Owner reservation.
Complimentary reservations (C type or reservations
with COMP rate plan) that are attached to a group will show as a
Group reservation on the DOS 360 report, but will show as a
Complimentary reservatoin on the RoomForecast reports.
The Non-Group & Group Totals line excludes Owner &
Guest of Owner, Maintenance, and Complimentary reservations.
The Occupancy % for Non-Group and all Group
reservation types is calculated by dividing the End rooms by
Non-Group & Group Total Rooms. For example, in the above
screen shot, the occupancy % for Non-Group reservations calculation
is 18 (End rooms) \ 174 (Non-Group & Group Total Rooms) = 10.3%.
The Occupancy % for Owner & Guest of Owner,
Maintenance, and Complimentary reservation types is calculated by
dividing the End rooms by All Types Total Rooms. For example,
in the above screen shot, the occupancy % for Complimentary
reservations calculation is 2 (End rooms) \ 190 (All Types Total
Rooms) = 1.1%.
RevPAR is the revenue per available room. This
is calculated by multiplying Avg Rate Per Room times Occupancy %,
then dividing by 100. For example, in the above screen shot,
RevPAR for Non-Group reservations calculation is ( 95.28 (Avg Rate
Per Room) * 10.3 (Occupancy %) ) / 100 = 9.81.
