Configuration System Failed to Initialize

Issue

When logging in to RDPWin on a workstation, the following error occurs:

Configuration system failed to initialize. (Trace: Logon-Bind)



Solution for RDPWin V3 on Windows XP Computer

  1. Open Windows Explorer (Programs | Accessories | Windows Explorer).
  2. Navigate to C:\Documents and Settings.
  3. Navigate to the folder of the user that is logged into the Workstation.
  4. Navigate to Local Settings | Apps and delete the 2.0 folder.

  5. Login to RDPWin again.  The login should be successful.

Solution for RDPWin 3 on Windows 7 Computer

  1. Open Windows Explorer (Programs | Accessories | Windows Explorer).
  2. Navigate to C:\Users.
  3. Navigate to the folder of the user that is logged into the Workstation.
    Navigate to AppData | Local | Apps and delete the 2.0 folder.

  4. Login to RDPWin again.  The login should be successful.

Solutions for RDPWin V2

Solution 1:

Delete folder:  C:\Documents and Settings\_User_Name_\Application Data\Resort_Data_Processing,_I

Solution 2:

  1. Verify Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0 is installed (Start | Settings | Control Panel | Add or Remove Programs ).
  2. If it is installed, uninstall by selecting Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0 and click Remove (If there are higher versions installed, you will need to uninstall these versions prior to uninstalling version 2.0).
  3.  Reinstall Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0.  To download this version, go to http://www.microsoft.com/net/
  4. Try to log into RDPWin again.  The login should be successful.
