Problem
At any point in RDP where F6 notes is available, you may receive the
error ** Basic Error 5 ** Line: 36072 Module: xxx-Note. If Switches 423-10 or 423-15 are set to Yes, Auto Pop Up Notes at
Check-In or Check-Out, the above error will also display.
Solution
- Open a command prompt. From a
Win95/98 workstation go to Start | Programs | MS Dos Prompt.
From a Win2000 workstation go to Start | Programs | Accessories |
Command Prompt.
- Go the network drive where RDP is
installed. I.E. if RDP is on the F drive type F: <enter>,
then CD \RDP\LOOK <enter>.
- Delete Note*.txt
Possible causes for this problem:
Corruption due to a virus.
To test:
- Edit TEST.TXT.
- In the text file TYPE "Hello RDP"
- File.
- Wait 30 seconds.
- TYPE TEST.TXT
- It should say "Hello RDP".
- If still ok, repeat step 5 every minute
for 5 - 10 minutes.
- Eventually the file will either be blank
or corrupted.
- Contact Hardware Specialist for removal
of the virus.
Note:
The Klez Virus and variants has been reported to attack *.TXT files
