Reduce Report Size to Allow for E-mailing Reports in Crystal Reports 2008
Back to Crystal KB Index

Issue:  Crystal Report size is too large which creates problems e-mailing the report, slows down reports and takes up unneeded storage space.

Solution:  Resize images to a size less than 400-800 megapixels, and then reinsert into the Crystal document.

  1. Open the image in a graphic editing program such as Paint Shop or Photoshop.
  2. Resize the image to a size slightly larger than what the logo is going to be in the report, to maintain some quality.  An estimated 400 - 800 mega pixels is the maximum (or 4 to 6 inches).
  3. Open the report in Crystal.
  4. Insert the image.
  5. Press and hold the Shift key while adjusting the size of the picture to fit the space.
  6. Save the report.
  7. Check the size of the report.  It should be less than one "1" megabyte.
