Enhancement Requests & Custom Programming & Reports

Enhancement Requests

RDP encourages our customers to give us feedback on our products and to suggest enhancements for the RDP systems. We do add features to our systems based on this feedback and the market system trends. These enhancements are handled in the following manner:

  1. Open a support ticket to request the change
  2. The support technician will make sure it is not already available or there isn't a work around
  3. After receiving a response from Support, e-mail request to BillC@resortdata.com with details of the request enhancement
  4. If viable, the feature is added to the system, documented and tested
  5. All customers with a valid support contract receive the feature at no additional charge in an update
  6. All new features are listed in the Revisions section of the RDPWin help system
  7. Some new features are optional and are enabled through a switch

 

There is no guarantee that a requested enhancement will make it into the system.  The decision to add the feature is mostly based on the impact on the installed  base.  If the enhancement is requested by multiple customers and is something that we think will be useful to many, then it will be ranked higher on the list.  The only way to guarantee a new feature, is to get approval for custom programming (See below).

Custom Programming

The only way to guarantee that a feature is added to an RDP system is to request custom programming.  Unlike many software companies, RDP will customize our systems specifically for one customer.  The cost of the custom programming is dependent on how long it will take and the impact on the system.  The custom programming flow of events is as follows:

  1. Define your needs as specifically as possible
  2. E-mail the request to BillC@ResortData.com
  3. You will receive a quote which includes the cost and amount of time involved.  The cost will not change regardless of how long the project takes.
  4. After receipt of the payment, a start time will be assigned to the project
  5. The feature will be documented and tested
  6. RDP support will contact you when completed and also when the associated update is available

Reports

RDP supplies many Crystal Reports standard as part of the system.  During installation, RDP will assist with confirmations in order to go live as efficiently as possible.  With the Crystal Designer software, you can create as many custom reports as needed.  There is no charge if you do the reports yourself.  RDP Support will assist if there are specific questions, but will not deal with in-depth designing as part of the standard support ticket.  For custom reports, follow these steps:

  1. Define your needs as specifically as possible.  Provide a screen shot or some layout.  Basing it on an existing report is the best solution.
  2. E-mail the request to BillC@ResortData.com
  3. You will receive a quote which includes the cost and amount of time involved.  The cost will not change regardless of how long the project takes.
  4. After receipt of the payment, a start time will be assigned to the project
  5. The report will be e-mailed after completion
